The basic information
Triethanolamine TEOA, also known as TEOA, TEA. 2, 2, 2-hydroxytriethylamine, triethylamine, chemical formula (molecular formula) : C6H15O3N, is a colorless to light yellow viscous liquid with ammonia flavor, easily soluble in water, ethanol, alkaline, aqueous solution PH value of about 10.5, is a widely used chemical raw materials. Used as vulcanizing agent of non-carbon black reinforcing adhesive, emulsifier of oil and wax, metal cutting coolant, anti-rust agent, cement early strength agent, neutralizer, acid gas absorbent, daily chemical products wetting agent, etc.
Physical and chemical properties
Colorless to light yellow viscous liquid, slightly ammonia taste, soluble in water, ethanol. Alkaline, aqueous solution PH about 10.5. Corrosion of copper, aluminum and their alloys. Liquids and vapors corrode skin and eyes. Can react with a variety of acids to produce ester, amide salt.
Melting point 18~21℃, cooling can form supercooled liquid. The relative density is about 1.12, the boiling point is 190~193℃(5*133Pa), and the decomposition is about 335℃ at atmospheric pressure. Vapor pressure is about 1.3Pa. Flash point 185℃, spontaneous combustion temperature 315℃.
TEA products in the market include high purity products with purity of more than 99%, and products with TEA content of 95%, 90% and 85%, generally containing water and diethanolamine, etc. Grade 1 product purity ≥98.5%, moisture ≤0.3%.
Feature USES
Triethanolamine is a kind of widely used chemical raw material, used as vulcanizing agent of non-carbon black reinforcing glue, emulsifier of oil and wax, metal cutting coolant, rust inhibitor, cement early strength agent, neutralizer, acid gas absorbent, daily chemical products moistening agent, etc.
In the field of polyurethane can be used as the starting agent of polyether, polyurethane foam and elastomer crosslinking agent and auxiliary catalyst. Due to the tertiary amine N group, it has a certain catalytic effect, and can neutralize acidic components and protect the tertiary amine main catalyst in polyurethane foam combination.
General purpose
(1) for the preparation of surfactant, cutting oil, antifreeze, in the metal processing industry, can be used to prepare corrosion inhibitor, protect the metal surface, prevent oxidation;
(2) in the electroplating industry, sodium cyanide can be replaced, or the use of micro cyanide plating, known as micro cyanide or non cyanide non-toxic plating, plating internal quality can be fully comparable with cyanide plating parts;
(3) the main raw materials of cement grinding aid (about 75% of the total formula of grinding aid), adding grinding aid can increase cement output by 10%-20%;

Other USES

(3) Triethanolamine is also a good solvent, hygroscopic agent, used in the textile industry.
(4) Triethanolamine also has the function of neutralizing agent in cosmetics, which can be neutralized with CP-940, so as to achieve the effect of thickening and moisturizing.
