K12 or K-12 sodium dodecyl sulfate
Also known AS AS, referred to AS SDS, is an anionic surface active agent, alias: coconut oil alcohol (or lauryl alcohol) sodium sulfate, K12, blowing agent K12 or K-12 sodium dodecyl sulfate.
Structural formula CH3(CH2) 11OSO3Na, molecular weight 288.39. White to yellowish powder, slightly containing special gases, apparent density 0.25g/mL, melting point 180 ~ 185℃(decomposition), easily soluble in water, HLB value of 40. Non-toxic.
Properties: white or light yellow powder, soluble in water, not sensitive to alkali and hard water. With decontamination, emulsification and excellent foaming power. It is a non-toxic anionic surfactant. Its biodegradability >90%. Uses: used as emulsifier, fire extinguishing agent, foaming agent and textile auxiliaries. Also used as toothpaste and paste, powder, shampoo industry often used in detergent and textile industry.
